I'm currently enrolled in a specialist program (which is part of the doctoral studies) at Grand Canyon University for K-12 Leadership.

Experience

When I was an elementary teacher in Clay County, I also was employed as one of the afterschool tutoring companies called Twister Tutors. Last year I worked as the Saturday School 6th grade reading teacher at J.E.B. Stuart Middle School. I have been an educator for 8 years ( 1 year as a special education teacher assistant/paraprofessional, 7 years as a classroom teacher). I am currently the 5th grade math and science teacher at West Jacksonville Elementary school. I received my certification in Florida's Just Read program called C.A.R.P.D. (Content Area Reading Professional Development) that was designed as an intervention measure for students who scored a level 1 or 2 on the FCAT Reading portion. I taught 4 years in Georgia for the Houston County Board of Education in Warner Robins, GA. I desire to be your child's tutor because I'm effective in providing that intensive one on one instruction as an intervention that can help your child grow and with the collaborative support of the parents reach the child's academic goals.

This year one of my personal goals is travel the state of Florida and other states more to places I have never been before.
